Children Read Succeed is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose purposes and objectives focus on youth & family development, community education, and social support services.

OUR MISSION

Our aim is to eliminate intergenerational poverty.

We Transform the Lives of Children & Families
Continuing Pathways for More Freedom Schools

We've joined the CDF Freedom Schools® movement! It's our featured summer enrichment program that creates spaces for scholars, parents, and educators to come together and engage in meaningful action that allows communities to grow academically and socially.

It's more than just a summer experience; it’s a lifetime commitment to the movement of social justice. With hope, education, and action, communities are able to learn from one another and provide resources and support to address community needs.

Supporting Families with the Parent Project
Guided by an activity-based curriculum built on cooperative learning norms, our parent training program addresses the critical issues and MOST destructive of adolescent behaviors that parents face today while focusing on reducing family conflict & improving school attendance and performance.

Using a behavioral model, we offer parents and caregivers of strong willed or out-of-control youth 10-16 weeks of concrete, step-by-step solutions, not theory. Parents work in groups to brainstorm, practice applying new ideas, and build support.

PRESS COVERAGE

"There’s no school like Freedom School! Reading books is really cool! Gaining knowledge through the word"

Empowering Students through Reading & Culture

"A lot of these kids come in with a lot of pent-up, frustrated feelings...Our theme is 'I Can Make a Difference...We want to empower them."

Making a difference -- in self, family, community, country and world

"Some children at school—they’re bullies, they’re hateful, they’re mean,” she explained, “but if I tell them about the civil rights and why they’re being hateful and shouldn’t be hateful, I think they will recognize that they shouldn’t do that anymore and they’ll just be friends or make friends …"

...So the world will have peace.

"We hope the kids will be confident in who they are, love reading and continue to engage in their education...Even at their young age, they need to learn that they have a responsibility to themselves, their community and the world."

Y'all are at the beginning of life's journey...you'll make the right decision and move mountains
